The Double Paradiddle

The double paradiddle is an extended version of the standard paradiddle. It adds extra single strokes before the double, creating a longer, flowing pattern that works really well for grooves, fills, and moving around the drum kit. The basic sticking is: R L R L R R L R L R L L Because it is built in groups of six, the double paradiddle is especially useful for developing coordination, timing, and control in triplet-based feels or 6/8 rhythms.
